Project 1 Economic Impact

An economic analysis found that the first project alone will generate $2.8 billion in economic activity and create over 25,000 jobs, many offering prevailing wage and benefits, totaling $2 billion in earned income. Beyond direct impacts, the project is expected to support local industries, reduce travel congestion, and enhance regional connectivity, helping businesses move goods more efficiently and commuters save time.

Public Comment Period Closed

On June 18, 2025, we hosted a Public Hearing in the City of Bayonne on the first project of the Program, the reconstruction between Interchanges 14 and 14A. The Public Hearing offered an opportunity to provide both oral and written comments or questions on the record. The public comment period for the Public Hearing closed July 3rd, 2025.
